Eating for Energy, by Yuri Elkaim, is a raw foods diet for healthy weight loss in the form of a superb book that highlights the intricacies of the human body and the effects that the food we eat have on our daily living.

Energise with raw foods dietWhile browsing the internet recently in an attempt to find a long overdue cure for, or at least relief from, the chronic hayfever and sinus problems that have plagued me all my life, I came across Yuri’s ebook ‘Eating for Energy’ which immediately grabbed my attention.  This compelling book comprising  287 pages of detailed and extremely valuable information highlights how easily we are  able to overcome the results of detrimental strains we place on our body daily through poor eating habits and lack of exercise.

By becoming more conscious of how our body reacts to the food we eat, we are able to impove our wellbeing quite rapidly.  That has been my personal experience and no doubt you could have similar experiences.  In a matter of less than two weeks by eating a raw foods diet my hayfever and sinus problems had diminshed by at least 85 to 90 percent.

To mention a few of Yuri Elkaim’s attirbutes, he holds a Bachelor of Physical Health and Education with High Honours from the University of Toronto, he is a Registered Holistic Nutrionalist and Certified Kinesiolgist and was previously a Professional Football Player.  A troublesome health issue lead Yuri to develop his passion for wellness and hence his reaon for study and being professional in his fields.

I am convinced that the raw foods diet Eating for Energy is a ‘must read’ for every adult whether or not there is currently a health issue to deal with or the need for healthy weight loss.   By reading this book one learns so much about the functioning of human body. the influences of food and environment on our bodies and how we can change those influences to ensure that we have quality of life for as long as we are on this planet.

In his book Yuri goes into extensive detail about the importance of establishing an acid-alkaline balance which he states “is the key to optimal physical and mental performance and a healthy, long-lasting life”.   Often we feel lethargic or bloated after a meal and consequently take the easy way out.  In otherwords we decide to spend the next hour or so in sedentry activity rather than ‘getting on’ with the more physcial tasks awaiting us, or even going for that walk which is good for our body as well as our mind.

Yuri explains that “the Eating for Energy Food Spectrum is specifically designed to drive more alkalinity and energy into your body!”

To my way of thinking, that statement makes absolute sense as discomfort caused  by too much acidity not only in the digestive tract but throughout the body, can lead to feeling totally miserable in oneself and consequently not achieving desired outcomes be they at business, home or even socialising with friends.  Who feels comfortable mixing with others and making pleasant conversation when they are experiencing burning sensations due to acidity within their body?

These resources are important to help you to start and maintain a healthy eating programme.   There are wonderful recipes which are explicit and easy to follow.   It may be more pleasing to some had there been more pictures included as I believe we have become accustomed to lots of illustrations in recipe books.  However, the quality of the recipes, together with their simplicity makes the directions easy to follow.

Yuri’s philosophy is of great importance for your health, the health of your family and the world at large.  It is simply about eating natural foods and an awareness of the body’s performance based on the food we consume and how it reacts to those foods.

Conclusion

I can’t recommend Yuri’s Eating for Energy plan highly enough knowing what it has done for me in such a short length of time.  I admit that I occassionally stray a little from the  plan  but by changing my eating habits to eating a raw foods diet and almost no animal food, including dairy, I now have less problems with my allergies and far more energy than I can remember perhaps ever having.  I have also experienced some healthy weight loss which is an added advantage.

I can’t say that you will get the same benefits as everyone is unique but I do recommend learning about the plan and taking from it what you believe may assist you in your daily living.
